I just found a really great deal on children's shoes! I bought 25 pairs of shoes for $44.75 (including shipping)...that's only $1.79 per pair! We don't exactly need that many shoes right now, but for that price I decided to stock up for the next few years as well as for baby gifts. Most of their shoes are regularly priced around $25-$35, but are on sale for $1-$2. I read on a cloth diapering forum that the sale ends today, but I don't see that on their website, so I don't know if it's true. They are, however, selling out pretty fast, so head on over and snatch some up! Click here to check out the deals.

I've recently become an affiliate for Vision Forum and Biblical Womanhood. These are both organizations that I really like and support...they have a wealth of wonderful resources. As an affiliate, I receive a small percentage of purchases made as a result of folks clicking on my links. So if you ever want to buy something from them, feel free to access them by clicking on the banners in my sidebar. :-)
Right now, Vision Forum is having a big sale! Check it out by clicking below!

Christine just hosted a giveaway for a Doll Carrier from Vision Forum and I won! Woohoo! I've never won anything before! I think I'm going to save it for Esther's birthday. We exchanged Christmas gifts with my brother and sister-in-law this past Sunday, and they gave Abigail a baby doll sling, which she is wearing as I type. :-) Esther really likes it too, and she's always trying to put it on herself when Abigail is not wearing it. I know that she'll be SO excited to get this baby carrier. I'm not sure I can wait until her birthday though. I'll probably just give it to her when it comes. :-) Thanks so much, Christine!

This is our latest attempt at a good family picture. Not great, but not too bad either. Hannah had a dress exactly like Esther's earlier in the day, but she spit up all over it. I don't know what I was thinking when I dressed her in pink for a Christmas picture! It's next to impossible to get everyone dressed properly, looking at the camera, and happy at the same time. :-) We'll keep trying.
Adam had his last final on Wednesday, so we have him home for a while! We had lunch at the park today...in this wintery 81 degree weather we're having! If it doesn't get cooler soon I'm going to have to go back up into the attic to get some of our summer clothes out again!
We're busy getting ready for a visit from Adam's family next week. All 13 of them are coming from Kansas, and we're looking forward to it! I'm having fun planning meals and wrapping Christmas presents for everyone. There will be 9 adults and 10 children! I'll be sure to post pictures of our house-full!
Here are two of my little girls in their matching dresses. I bought Esther's dress before Abigail was born for $5, and I bought Hannah's dress at Goodwill last month (brand new) for $4!!

I made some granola today that turned out to be pretty tasty! Here's the recipe:
4 cups rolled oats
1 cup wheatgerm
1/2 cup flax seed meal
1/2 cup brown sugar (I'm going to try substituting honey next time)
1/2 cup raw sunflower seeds
1/2 cup chopped pecans
1/2 cup sliced almonds
1 tsp cinnamon
1 1/2 tsp salt
1/3 cup canola oil
1/4 cup honey
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 cup water
Preheat oven to 300 degrees. Combine dry ingredients in a large bowl. In a separate bowl, whisk together oil, honey, vanilla, and water. Pour wet ingredients over dry and mix until evenly blended. Spread in a greased 9x13 inch baking dish. Bake for 1 hour or until toasted, stirring every 20 minutes.
I'm going to use some of it to make granola bars with this recipe...it tastes a lot better than it sounds, and it's so easy!
1/2 cup honey
1/2 cup peanut butter
1 tsp vanilla
5 cups granola
Warm honey and peanut butter over low heat and mix well. Stir in vanilla and granola. Spread on large baking sheet and cut into bars.

My friend Nikki just recently posted about a really good deal on games at Toys R Us. She gives all the details here, and you can view the Toys R Us ad here. I'm hoping to go take advantage of it tomorrow!

Every morning before Adam leaves for school he tells Joshua to "take care of the girls". And he usually does a very good job of it! I often hear him comforting Esther or helping Abigail or talking to Hannah. Just before naptime today I put Hannah down on our bed and stepped out of the room for a minute to grab something. While I was in the next room Joshua laid down next to her, put his arm around her and said "Let's think about what Jesus did for us, Hannah. He died on the cross for our sins. And you're pretty just like Mama." :-)
My little Abigail (2 1/2) is completely potty trained now! She's been daytime potty trained for 6 or 7 months, but she is officially done with diapers. I haven't been pushing nighttime training at all. I figured if she turns 3 and is still wearing diapers at night, then we'll start working on it. She started keeping her diaper dry consistently for a few weeks, so this past week we made the switch to "big girl pants" at night. She's so proud of herself when she wakes up all dry in the morning!
Abigail is wearing Esther's 18mo clothes in this picture. The shirt fits great, but we were having a hard time getting the pants to stay up. She's pretty tiny! Maybe she'll fit into her 2T clothes next year!

We've got our Christmas tree up and decorated! We even have lights on our house this year. Adam put up icicle lights and they're really pretty. I'll have to take a picture of them to post. We go to a Christmas tree farm every year on the day after Thanksgiving. It's about an hour drive from our house, but it's worth it. We go on a hay ride (pulled by a John Deere tractor...Joshua is in his element!) and pick out our tree and have them cut it down. It's lots of fun!
