Grocery Shopping is Fun!!!!

I enjoy grocery shopping anyway, but it just got a lot better. We have a brand spankin' new Kroger here and I'm really excited about it! It opened today, and of course we had to go. The children loved it...lots of samples inside and free Mayfield ice cream outside.

In other news, Hannah's very first pearly white popped through yesterday! She's still eating everything she can get in her mouth. I just bought some squash today to puree for her. We have yet to come across a food that she doesn't like...even green peas! She loves bananas, just like her siblings. The other day she ate half a banana at breakfast and a whole banana at lunch...among other things, of course. :)

Well, the spring cleaning is going a little slower than I had hoped it would, but I am making some progress. I tackled the toys yesterday. They definitely needed a good purging/organizing. Here are the before pictures...

And the after pictures...

And the things to go into the attic...which also needs to be spring cleaned. At least I can't see that part. :)

Easter Pictures!

I have a very calm, stay-at-home kind of a week planned after lots of long rehearsals and extra practicing last week (hence the lack of posting!). We had a wonderful Easter Sunday! We had morning and evening worship services with a lunch and a quick birthday celebration for Abigail in between. I promise to update more this week.

It's next to impossible to get everyone to look at the camera at the same time!

Abigail was so excited about her hat, gloves, and purse. :)

Joshua loves to hold Hannah and teach her how to do things.

Sweet little Hannah

Happy Birthday, Abigail!

Be sure to pause the music at the very bottom of this page before playing the slide show!

More to come...

Today is Abigail's 3rd birthday!! I'm working on a slide show for her, but it's not quite done. I should be able to post it tomorrow. In the mean time, here is a picture of Papa and his girls!

I got tagged by my sister-in-law, Tami!

Here's how you play. Once you've been tagged you have to write a blog of ten weird, random things, facts or habits about yourself. At the end, you choose five people to be tagged, listing their names and why you chose them to be tagged. Don't forget to leave them a comment saying "you're it" and to read your blog. You can't tag the person who tagged you. Since you can't tag that person back, let him or her know when you've posted your blog so he or she can read your answers.

Okay, here are my ten weirdnesses.:)

1) I like doing laundry. I really enjoy making our clothes clean and folding them just so. Putting them away isn't my favorite thing in the world, but I like the sense of accomplishment that I feel when everything is put back in it's proper place. I used to like to have all of the laundry baskets empty at one time, but that hasn't happened in a couple of years and I don't anticipate it happening any time soon!

2) I like ironing. I can't stand anyone in my family wearing wrinkled clothing. I won't even wear wrinkles around the house.

3) I don't like watching tv. At all. It's been months and months since I watched anything on the television. I do like to watch the olympics, but of course that doesn't happen very often.

4) Every time my babies grow out of the newborn stage I'm ready to have another baby. I've loved every stage that my children have been through (with the exception of potty training!), but newborn is my favorite.

5) I'm an incredibly slow reader. I think I may have read a total of 2 books, cover to cover, in 2007. Embarrassing. I'm trying to do better this year.

6) I'm an organist. I've been playing since I was 15 (piano since I was 10).

7) I'm not interested in fads. I really couldn't care less what is "in" or "cool" or whatever the terminology is these days.

8) I chew my ice cream. I don't think that this is particularly strange, but my husband does. I'm glad he loves me anyway. :)

9) I have one brown eye and one green eye.

10) I have mammoth feet...I wear a size 11.

Now it's my turn to be the tagger!
Christine - we've never met in person, but she's a sweet blogging friend!
Nikki - we've known each other for years. Her Sarah Beth and my Esther were born just a week apart!
Ivy - we went to college together. Ivy recently moved to Poland and I miss having her here!
Amanda - my sister-in-law and Mama to my cute nephew!
Aisha - another sweet blogging friend that I've never met!

Slowly but Surely...

...my house is getting a good spring cleaning! I had planned to just do one room per week, but I'm actually a little ahead of schedule. I started last week and I've done the master bedroom, hallway, front bathroom, back bathroom, and computer area. The only problem is that the rest of the house seems to fall completely apart in the process!! As I'm spring cleaning one area, there are eight little hands un-spring cleaning the other areas! Oh well. I guess that's just the way it goes! :)

We spent most of the morning out in the backyard enjoying the 76-degree weather! It was a beautiful day and the children seriously needed to burn some energy. I left them outside and came in to make lunch. When I poked my head out the door to check on them, this is what I found. And I thought I was done with laundry for the day!

Um, yeah, I think we need a bath.

All clean and enjoying our picnic lunch.

Hannah likes the camera!

Another Good Sale

Vision Forum is having yet another good sale! It's hard not to get annoyed with them because they have great products and great sales, and it's hard to keep from spending lots of money. :) This on ends at midnight on Tuesday. Click below to browse the deals!

While we're talking about sales, The Children's Place is having a clearance as well. (Click on Shop Outlet and then choose the category that you would like to view.) They didn't have much left the other day, but when I checked a few minutes ago they had added more things. The prices are good, and they have a flat $5 shipping rate!

Mama's Helper

Hannah was being fussy while I was trying to make dinner the other day. I set her on the counter in her Bumbo and stood Esther in a chair and asked her to talk to Hannah so that she wouldn't cry. This was the result!

It's kind of hard to hear, but when Hannah spit up, Esther said "Aaahh. Baby food." Her vocabulary has really been growing lately. I think she is talking more than Abigail was at 21 months (and definitely more than Joshua was). I think one of the big reasons she is talking so well is that she has two non-stop talkers to listen to all of the time. No, not Adam and me. :) Esther said her first complete sentence yesterday. We were eating build-your-own burritos and all of the black beans had fallen out of Esther's tortilla. She looked through into her empty tortilla and said "My beans are awwww gawwwn!"

Oh, in case you were wondering, that strange tropical bird sounding noise in the background is a video about Guanacos that Joshua and Abigail were watching. :)

Life and Deals

I know I've been slack about updating recently. It's been a long and somewhat frustrating week so far. I feel like I've been disciplining over and over and over for the same things. Now I know how God must feel dealing with me sometimes! I'm not a screamer, and I'm usually not a cryer, but I've been in tears more than once in the past few days. No, I'm not pregnant. :) Life with little children...definitely a time when God can make His strength perfect in my weakness!

There are a few children's consignment sales going on here. I consigned some things and volunteered at a sale last weekend. I don't know how much I made yet, but I bought almost everything that the children will need this summer and I spent a little over $100. I got some really great deals on Saturday while I was volunteering. At the very end of the sale, anything with a "D" on the tag (meaning that the consignor did not want it returned) was $1.00. I bought several pairs of really nice shoes and several articles of clothing for $1.00 each. I also got an entire crib bedding set for $1.00! It's really cute and it came with a bumper, crib skirt, blanket, diaper stacker, sheet, curtains, mobile, and several other things...I haven't quite figured out what they are yet! There was a matching lamp shade that I bought for $1.00 as well.

My other great deal was a Gap backpack diaper bag. I've been wanting to get a backpack for a while, and I've had my eye on these , but $59 was a good bit more than I would want to spend on a diaper bag! I was really excited to get this one for $1.00!!

Today is my 28th birthday! I'm getting uncomfortably close to 30. :) Actually the older I get, the younger 30 sounds! Adam just came home a little while ago and brought me these...my favorite flowers. :)

We're going out to dinner tonight. I'm not sure where yet. It's funny, but Chick-fil-A sounds really good to me right now!
