Thanks so much for all of your sweet comments on my last post! I need to point out that I got one of Noah's birth stats wrong...he's 20 1/2 inches, not 21 1/2. I'm sorry to take so long getting more pictures posted, but it turns out that the hospital didn't have wireless internet. Apparently there is a doctor in L&D that has it, so it works there but not in the postpartum rooms. Anyway, we are home now and Noah and I are doing well. I'm tired, but otherwise I'm feeling great. I didn't have to have any stitches this time, which is a first for me, and my only soreness now is from nursing.
The other children are just crazy about Baby Noah! I wasn't sure how Hannah would do. She has been the clingiest of the four by far, but she has done great. The first time they came to see him, she waddled into the hospital room, held out her hands, and said, "Have it"! :)

We are grateful to God for the safe arrival of our baby boy! Noah Evans was born at 7:41pm today. He weighs 8lb 5oz and is 21 1/2 inches long. Noah and I are both doing very well! We've nursed twice already and he's a hungry little guy. :) I didn't think that we would have internet access in the hospital, so I didn't bring the cord to download pictures from the camera. Adam's laptop has a camera in it though, so this one will have to do until I get the cord...hopefully tomorrow.

A few months back I made a diaper bag that ended up having a few problems. I wanted to make a more boyish one anyway, so I picked out some fabric at Hobby Lobby and made the changes that I wanted...shorter bag, longer handles, fabric facing the right direction, etc. It cost a whopping $8.00 and a couple of hours to make!
And what's really neat is that it matches the purse that my parents gave me for Christmas! As far as I know that wasn't planned, though Mom was with me when I picked out the fabric, so maybe she remembered the colors. :)

Here are the promised pictures of the children playing the their playhouse from Grandma and Grandpa in Kansas. They all fit in it perfectly and they think that it's great fun!
It's been quite warm here lately and we enjoyed playing in the leaves after our walk on Christmas Eve morning.
We've officially joined the rank of large families...we traded in our minivan and got a 12-passenger van!

We hope that you all had a wonderful day celebrating Christ's birth! We did, and I thought I'd share a few pictures. I'll post some more later too. Grandma and Grandpa in Kansas sent the children a cardboard playhouse that we set up in the bonus room. They love it! Hannah goes in headfirst through the windows instead of going in the doors for some reason. It's hilarious and I'll try to get some pictures after they wake up from their naps.
We made a trip to visit Great Grandma at the beginning of the week!
She gave the girls little purses with puppies inside, which they loved!
Joshua thought that I only made crayon rolls for his cousins, so he was excited to get one. :)
Grandma and Grandpa Evans gave the children a Melissa and Doug play kitchen!
Hannah is into babies right now, so she got one of her own in her stocking.
The children got hats and gloves from a couple of different people, and the had fun modeling them.
Abigail says "Merry Christmas"!

...and still pregnant! I know I haven't been posting much lately. It's a busy time of year for everyone, and I think especially for church musicians. I've had lots of rehearsals, a wedding, and an extra service to prepare for, so I haven't been doing much blogging. We hosted a carol-sing at our house last night for the choir too. We had chili, bread, and an abundance of Christmas goodies. A lot of folks already had prior plans, but there were 15 of us here and we had a great time! We have a Christmas Eve service tonight. It's my last service until after the baby is born...I have a substitute starting this Sunday. I plan on relaxing over the next few days, and if baby boy decides to come we're ready! If he doesn't come I'll be sure do better about posting. We got some fun pictures of the children playing in the leaves...in the 71-degree weather that we're having today!

We made Fudge and Gingerbread Men this week, and I thought I'd share the recipes since both turned out well. They're straight from Allrecipes with no changes, so I won't bother to type them out here. Both recipes had a lot of good reviews. The fudge is really creamy and the cookies have a nice flavor. I'm not a big fan of gingerbread...it's just a little too strong for my taste. This cookie recipe uses butterscotch pudding and ginger, but no molasses. It may not be authentic, but it tastes better than other gingerbread cookies I've had.

Here's my 38-week belly picture like I promised! I'm feeling good for the most part. Adam and I both have colds, so I haven't felt great the past few days, but that's nothing having to do with the baby. For some reason I get sick right at the end of every pregnancy. It's been really bad twice and the other three times I've gotten away with just a cold. It could definitely be worse than it is this time. I've been having a ton of Braxton-Hicks contractions, but I don't expect that they're really doing anything. I'll find out tomorrow! I have a little bit of swelling in my legs, but not nearly as much as I had with Hannah. I can still wear any pair of shoes with no problem. I forgot to mention that my Group B Strep test was negative, which I'm very thankful for!
We did a little bit of Christmas baking this week. We were originally going to make an assortment of different goodies to give away, but since Adam and I both have colds, and since I'm rather whale-like and don't feel like standing up for long periods of time, we decided to just stick with fudge and gingerbread men. Here are a few pictures!
And here's Hannah enjoying the results!

A lot of my blogging friends have been posting pictures of their Christmas decorations, so I thought I'd post a few of ours too! We always put our tree up the day after Thanksgiving and take it down around New Year's Day, but we may take it down early this year so that we can switch into baby mode. :)
I had to throw in this picture of our decorators-in-training. :)

Adam gave me my Christmas present early this year!! I actually got to pick it out, which was fun. :) Several months ago our good double stroller broke. We bought it at a consignment store when Abigail was born and we've gotten lots of miles out of it, so I can't complain. I have been eyeing double jogger strollers for a while now and Adam gave me a Schwinn! It came last night and he put it together this afternoon in time for us to go for a quick walk before dark. I haven't had time to really check it out and see where all the pockets are and that sort of thing, but our short walk told me that it is wonderful!! I couldn't be happier with it. It almost feels like it's self-propelled...even going uphill! I'm very excited about it. :) It will make it much easier to go on walks after the baby is born...Joshua on one side of the stroller, Abigail on the other, Hannah and Esther riding, and the baby in the Ergo! It's even easy to push one-handed!
I had to include this picture of my chubby-cheeked Hannah...she looks like a pink marshmallow!
Speaking of the baby, I haven't given an update in a while. I don't have a 37 week belly photo to post, but I'll be sure to post a 38-week picture. I'm still feeling good, and my bad veins really aren't bothering me at all right now (unless Hannah tries to grab one, which she likes to do!). My weight gain has been a little strange...I gained 7lbs in 3 weeks before Thanksgiving, lost 4lbs in 2 weeks over Thanksgiving, and gained 2lbs last week. I don't have any noticeable swelling, so I'm not sure what is going on, but I'm not worried about it and neither is my doctor. I've gained 29lbs total with 3 weeks left before my due date. I may make it to 40lbs yet, especially since Christmas dinner is still to come! I was 1cm last week, for whatever that's worth. I know it doesn't really mean a thing, but at least it's one less centimeter to go in active labor! I found out yesterday that my doctor is off the week of Christmas but will be on call the week after Christmas, so that is good. The week after Christmas sounds good to us! :) I won't be surprised if I'm a little early this time, though I won't be shocked if I'm a week late like I have been the past three times either. We'll see!

Vision Forum has extended their Instant Rebate deal for a couple more days! It is now good through midnight tomorrow, December 13. We are not giving our children any toys for Christmas...they usually get plenty of those from other people. We are giving them each one thing from Vision Forum. Joshua is getting the Incredible Animals That Defy Evolution DVD, Abigail is getting Princess Adelina, Esther is getting A Light Kindled: The Story of Priscilla Mullins, and Hannah is getting the Incredible Animals That Defy Evolution book. Oh, and Baby Boy is getting a package of onesies and a package of new pacifiers (which I am hoping he will take!), but they didn't come from the Vision Forum! We have been very happy with the things that we ordered for the children, and I am especially impressed with Hannah's book. It is larger than I expected and the photography is wonderful! As always, feel free to click on any of my Vision Forum links to order. And thank you to those who already have!

One of the childrens' favorite things to do in the evening just before bed is read poetry with Papa. We have several good books of poetry, but this is one of our favorites, and they just love hearing Shakespeare's Saint Crispen's Day Speech from Henry V.
Thanks to everyone who has ordered through my Vision Forum link! Their deals just keep getting better and it's hard not to order every time they come out with another special!
